Richard Kessinger, CPP

Mr. Richard Kessinger is President and Co-Founder of KC Security Solutions, LLC. He has more than 13 years of experience in security assessments and design. Prior to establishing the company Mr. Kessinger served as an associate with Kroll Security Services Group, an international risk management company. His responsibilities included: conducting sensitive and comprehensive physical security surveys, anti-terrorism assessments.

Mr. Kessinger’s previous experience included two years with the United States Capitol Police Washington, D.C. – Physical Security Division / Coordination Section where he served as Lead Physical Security Specialist. Mr. Kessinger was considered to be the Coordination Section’s resident expert in physical security techniques, methodology and implementation.

Prior to these positions, Mr. Kessinger had 20 years of service as a New York City Police Officer, 10 of  them with the Department's Crime Prevention Section. During this time he conducted over 400 risk assessments at various facilities.  Some of these included: New York City Bridges & Tunnels, New York City Public Schools and Fortune 500 Firms.

Thomas Clavin

Mr. Thomas Clavin is Vice-President of Operations and Co-Founder of KC Security Solutions, LLC.   He is a former New York City Police Officer with over 20 years of experience with the NYPD, 15 of them with the Crime Prevention Section. Mr. Clavin has provided risk assessments and security requirement analysis for hundreds of corporate, industrial, governmental and private facilities, including residential and landmark establishments throughout the City and State. Mr. Clavin was appointed as the security lighting expert for the New York City Police Department.   He worked closely with the Lighting Research Center and the Illuminating Engineering Society to develop the "Outdoor Lighting Pattern" book, a field guide to architects and lighting engineers to design security lighting for outdoor areas.   He also authored the NYPD publications:" Physical Security for Computers", " The Bomb Threat Response Plan" and "Maintaining Your Closed Circuit Television System".

Mr. Clavin is a Captain, US Air Force Reserve (Retired) and a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.   During his military career he was assigned to FEMA Region II as an Emergency Management Operations Officer. Mr. Clavin was responsible for creating and implementing policies, plans and procedures for the Nassau County Director of Emergency Services in all phases of emergency management and acted as direct liaison with Federal, State and County personnel.
